GET READY: Organising Your Digital Resources for Your Studies

When:
Venue: Birkbeck Main Building, Malet Street

Book your place

Many resources you will use at university, including books, lecture notes, journal articles and other resources, are often accessed digitally nowadays. You will therefore need to find effective ways of organising all these resources so that you can find and access what you need quickly and efficiently.

This session will consider ways of organising your files for your studies. It will cover the basic principles of the file explorer window on PCs, and One Drive as a tool for cloud and offline storage. It will then cover the practical procedures for creating a meaningful system of folders and files, how to rename and move or copy files, and how to search for and find files once you have saved them. If time, we’ll also briefly look at organising online-only sources such as ebooks and websites.

This will be a practical ‘learn by doing’ session, based on PC computers (not Apple/Mac). Please feel free to bring along your own laptop if you prefer.

Please note that this session takes place in person at Birkbeck.
