Exploring histories of ‘race’ and racism

Race Forum

Birkbeck, University of London is a global centre for research and teaching on 'race' and racism. The College is home to multidisciplinary communities of scholars and students, academic programmes and research centres committed to the study of this subject area. The College continues to build on this work as it enters its third century.

The Race Forum at Birkbeck hosts conferences, lectures, seminars, symposia and reading groups that examine histories and legacies of colonisation. These events, that are free and open to all, illuminate the connections between transcontinental histories of empire and postcolonial social formations and inequalities.
